Wanted to catch up on a couple of the adventures I have managed to go on despite COVID-19 and Quarantine. My family recently after much preparation and time went on a reunion to a lake a few hours from here and I decided on my way up to the reunion to visit a spot called Tony Grove Lake that I had read about but never explored.
Note if you are planning on going there, bring $10 for entry, I had to go find cash which can't be found for 20 miles, but bring cash for the parking or a check.
I loved Tony Grove and wish I had actually planned on a full day of exploring and play instead of a limited few hours. The lake is very high up in elevation so the wildflowers unlike the Salt Lake Mountains bloom in August, not July. It was heaven, it was a moderately easy hike around the lake and there were about a million different flowers coming from all angles and all different colors.
I highly recommend visiting in the summer, this location is not accessible in the winter, it is a 7-mile drive from the highway to the lake.
