Great Salt Lake State Park

Over the next few weeks, I will be updating the tab of hiking locations and spots to see on the blog, but let me share the sunset and visit I had last night.

I have been to this state park once, it was winter and it was a very different experience. After my winter visit, I planned on going back and just had to plan it and make it a priority. The visit went well, I won't go into details for what didn't in the visit because those were my own issues. Let's just say it was warm, I had not been drinking a ton of water and waited too long during the day to eat. I am one who gets so into what I am working on I honestly just forget to eat. But aside from those issues, it was really a nice experience and I couldn't even begin to tell you how beautiful in person the colors of the sunset were.

The park is small, but really a must-see stop. I recommend Water Bottles for hydration, sunscreen and I will warn you during the heat of the summer around the Salt Lake you will always find lots of bugs, so bug spray is a must.

“Each day is born with a sunrise

and ends in a sunset, the same way we

open our eyes to see the light,

and close them to hear the dark.

You have no control over

how your story begins or ends.

But by now, you should know that

all things have an ending.

Every spark returns to darkness.

Every sound returns to silence.

And every flower returns to sleep

with the earth.

The journey of the sun

and moon is predictable.

But yours,

is your ultimate

ART.”
